I adored this movie. I’m always on the fence about the concept of a muse.
On one hand, it can seem really misogynistic and objectifying.
On the other, how nice it would be to inspire profound creative expression!

Yes I agree.. but in the broader definition it is reffered to as…a guiding spirit and a source of inspiration…I wonder if one can have several muses…and not exclusively female…or…real..an imaginary muse is just as valid….. I think…still musing on muses..; )

… and need it be limited to women? i’ve met a few just simply lovely male muses in my lifetime … unforgettable.

Holly I couldn’t agree more with you,and this was probably the intention of this post initially…
I’m glad you share my opinion that it shouldn’t be a definition limited to refer to someone of female gender.
If I have ever had, or have, a muse or muses they have always been male..even if I’m a womenswear clothing designer…it is about intellectual inspiration not about’sexual’ preference…
